Professional Development Update

The Professional Development Committee would like to extend a big thank you to Rebecca Fleury for her tenure as chair of the PDC. Rebecca has moved on, but her contributions and work have helped improve the committee. Most importantly, Rebecca volunteered Battle Creek as the location for our Winter Institute. A big thank you also goes out to the Battle Creek community for stepping up when needed. Read more. 

Moving Forward with NextGen 2019

A new year brings new opportunities. This year, the NextGen committee welcomes some fresh faces. The new makeup has brought a wealth of energy, experience, and connections that will help us push our mission further this year. Currently, the committee is planning the 2019 Spring Professional Development event. Read more.  

On Feb. 12, 2019, Theodore "Ted" Staton passed away after a battle with canter. Ted served as city manager of East Lansing from 1995-2011. He was extremely active in MME and held the position of president from 2009-2010. Ted was a friend and colleague to many. Read more.

Any objections that would impact their membership status or category should be submitted to MME within 60 days of the date of this publication.
