Where did our summer go? They say as you get older time seems to go by faster. That rings true for me. It seems like yesterday that it was mid-July and that we were gathering in Holland for our summer workshop. … Kudos to Chairperson Frances McMullan, the entire Professional Development Committee, and everyone else who made the workshop the success that it was. DEI Committee Underway Mark Washington | Chair, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee
I am honored to serve as chair of MME’s first Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee. The purpose of the DEI Committee is to provide an intentional focus on the presence of DEI issues within MME as an organization and the communities it serves. The committee has had several discussions around the need for DEI and its inherent complexity while understanding that each of our communities has a unique local perspective and challenges. Constitutional Amendments Pass, Board Nominations Now Open! Kelly Warren | MME Secretary/Treasurer
MME members recently voted on proposed constitution amendments for our organization. That membership vote closed on September 12 and both amendments passed overwhelmingly. The changes also mean that nominations for the board are now open until Oct. 15. Read more.
